Bit expensive my local catch though. The cod is £6.75

Well, inspired by this thread (yes really), I had a piece of haddock and a piece of John Dory with oven chips last night and it tasted 10 times better than any shop made f & c I've had in years

The fish needs to rest for a little while after cooking or else the batter goes too soggy. Also, must be separate from the chips

Yeah, they do it in the staff restaurant here, if it's fresh out of the fryer, it's OK but it's not so nice lukewarm.
I'm having a BLT with double bacon instead.

They have this in the canteen downstairs every Friday and if it weren't for the fact it's always fucking luke warm, it would be decent.
Maybe a stroll to Happy Days is in order.

New one in Main Road, Gidea Park, very good. The trick is waiting for it to be cooked fresh. They also put the fish seperate in a box. Keeps it crispy, lovely

HUGE portions for the price. Proper cooked chips.
Of course the best ever chippy was Zigmans on the corner of Price Regent Lane and Burley Road in Custom House. That's because my Nan and Grandad owned it.
Anyway, it's a Thai meal tonight with the missus cos it's my BIRTHDAY.

I haven't had FISH & CHIPS for ages. I don't like BATTER, it's fucking disgusting.
If I was to go to the F&C shop now, I'd go for a JUMBO SAUSAGE without the batter and large chips, with ONION VINEGAR and plenty of salt.
For lunch though, I'll be down the new Market in Woking and going to the THAI BAR
I'll keep you all posted...hold your hats.
